Who are the Hales?….

Majors Woody and Sharon Hale have had a most interesting ministry that has spanned 45 years since they first met in Bible College in Toronto .  They both felt the call of God to ministry when they were but teen-agers.

The Hales have served in pastoral charges for over 20 years, having had several exciting appointments, including opening the work of The Salvation Army in Mississauga .  For seven years, they were specializing in youth and camp ministries during which gospel illusions were used extensively.  An additional 20 years were spent in administration work in Canada , as well as administering the mission of The Salvation Army in in Barbados and St Lucia , as well as Bermuda .

Being involved in programming as well, the Hales are no strangers to planning special events and entertainment for youth as well as seniors.  There have been several special missions to the Dominican Republic, Trinidad, Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados and St Lucia which have been very special to them.

Woody and Sharon retired from appointable service in the Army in 2003 and enjoy being involved in ministry of their choosing both within the Army as well as in different churches.  They have conducted several overseas missions in the last 6 years, and still are enjoying opportunities to visit different churches and senior organizations.

·         Speaking at church worship services

·         Presentation of Biblical truths through magic illusions

·         Giving lectures with power point, on “ Israel, the Land of the Book”

·         Hosting tours to the Middle East

The Hales have had a heartbeat for the Land of Israel since their first visit in 1979.  Indeed, they firmly believe that those who bless Israel , God will bless.  Since that time, they have hosted twelve tour groups to Israel and other Biblically related countries, including Greece, Turkey , Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, including The Passion Play in Oberamergau in Germany. Woody and Sharon have developed long term relationships in Israel with some of Israel’s most outstanding guides and business people during their pilgrimages, both in Israel as well as the West Bank .

One of the greatest blessings of a tour is that there is bonding as a ‘spiritual family’ and significant steps of personal faith are often made.  Indeed, to the Hales it is not a vacation or holiday, but rather a spiritual pilgrimage.
