Thursday October 20          Crete/Santorini 

 

 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The first stop today is Crete, where Paul docked on the way to Rome.  The island of Crete, a mountainous island in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, the largest of the Greek islands, lies south of the Aegean Sea, a link between Asia, Africa and Europe.   The Palace of Knossos (b) is interesting to see. Our next stop is Santorini (c)- one of the most beautiful islands of the Greek Islands.  Lunch & dinner overnight on board cruise ship.  
Friday October 21          Piraeus/Athens

 

 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Upon disembarking in Athens we are met by our guide to tour Athens, visiting the Acropolis (a), Parthenon (b), the Roman Forum (c), Agora and Mars Hill (Aeropagus) (d)  from where Paul preached.  We journey on to Corinth (e) along the coast of the Aegean Sea.  Visit the Temple of Apollo (f), the Agora on the site where Paul preached in the market place and brought the Good News of Christianity to these citizens.  We proceed to our hotel for dinner and overnight.  

 

Saturday October 22          Tel Aviv/Jerusalem

 

 

 

 

     

 

Early morning departure for Tel Aviv (a).  Transfer to hotel in Jerusalem for a few hours of extra sleep and breakfast, then proceed on a half day of touring, visiting the Mount of Olives (John 11:1, 18; 12:1).  View Kidron Valley (b), visit the Garden of Gethsemane (c), Church of all Nations (with rock where Jesus prayed) drive by excavations of southern wall of old city to Mount Zion. Visit the Church of St Peter in Gallicantu, built over Caiaphas’ house where Jesus was judged.  Go to the Upper Room on Mount Zion (Luke 22:12) and visit the Tomb of King David.  Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

 

 Sunday October 23          Jerusalem  

 

   
 

We commence the day visiting the Model City (a) – how it looked in the time of Christ.  We proceed to visit the new city of Jerusalem , the Knesset ( Israel ’s parliament) (b).  A visit to the new excavations of the Old City of David (c) will amaze us.  The City of David is the original hilltop upon which King David dedicated ancient Jerusalem as his capital 3,000 years ago.  Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

 

 

Monday October 24          Jerusalem/Old City

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Today we visit the Garden Tomb (a), view Golgotha and Woody & Sharon will lead us in a special devotional time. We will take a walking tour through the Old City , entering through Dung Gate.  Our first stop will be the Wailing Wall (b). We will also visit some of the discovered underground tunnels of the Old City , and take a short walk through the newly restored Jewish Quarter where you will see a charming area.  Follow the Via Dolorosa via the colourful bazaars (c), pass the Stations of the Cross.  On our walk today we will see the Pool of Bethesda (where the paralytic was healed - John 5),  proceed to St Ann ’s Church to the Courtyard of Antonio (d) where Jesus received the cross and His public trial took place (John 18, 19).  We will see beneath the Convent of Sisters of Zion, games, played by the Roman soldiers, that are scratched on the paving stones.  Dinner & overnight at hotel.
